Ipswitch Brings Added Value to the SMB Market with the Release of IMail Server v11
Ipswitch Messaging Division welcomes IMail Server v11. Second only to Exchange and known for the industry’s best customer service, Ipswitch continues to be focused on providing powerful solutions and leading technologies that meet the messaging demands for small and mid-sized business with managed email solutions and full collaboration.
With the release of IMail v11 Ipswitch now includes secure Ipswitch Instant Messaging and WorkgroupShare collaboration into all IMail Server product offerings. WorkgroupShare combines shared web calendaring, Outlook® folders, and Global Address books that are uniquely integrated with the latest applications without the complicated Exchange Server. “Making things simple seems to be a driver for the small to mid-sized business”, said Tripp Allen, president of Ipswitch Messaging Division. “IMail Server’s current focus is in delivering value-added services for our current market that are cost effective and manageable for today’s competitive environment”.
GlobalView™ Mail Reputation Service has been added to IMail’s already popular Commtouch anti-spam RPD solution. By using the GlobalView™ Mail Reputation Service, Commtouch’s real-time analysis of a representative sample of global email traffic identifies hundreds of thousands of new zombies daily, tracks traffic from over tens of millions of IP addresses and classifies billions of messages per week, in real-time. Mr. Allen indicated that customers could not be more pleased with the already improved spam results from Commtouch. “SMB’s face the same web and email threats as enterprises and IMail Server is pleased to offer them the same level of protection as any company”, said Allen.
Ipswitch also introduced security bundles for IMail Premium that offer premium anti-virus at a reduced rate. “The benefit of the pre-packaged bundle is the simplicity in the ordering process”, said Allen. “This makes it easier for Ipswitch to meet our customer’s needs more efficiently, and these are the types of simple and cost effective solutions we want to continue to deliver to our customers”.
Ipswitch also re-introduced IMail Express. IMail Express offers a free standards-based email server for the small and mid-sized business market that requires no more than a ten user license. IMail Express delivers mobile support and also offers an optional Support Agreement for this level.
A new feature to IMail v11 is mobile synchronization and support for push email. IMail’s new real-time collaboration mobilizes company data and enables organizations to access, share and update key critical company data anytime anywhere on Windows Mobile devices. “We have realized IMail’s gap in the mobile market and the need to move beyond traditional email as a way of sharing information”, commented Mr. Allen. “Within just a few years, a typical mobile device will function more like a computer than a phone. Mobile messaging is an area we will continue to focus on over the next few months. Our customers can expect BlackBerry and Apple iPhone support to follow shortly”, said Allen.
For those looking for a managed hosted server environment, Ipswitch now partners with IMail Solutions for hosted IMail. IMail Solutions adheres to Ipswitch best practices for IMail Server deployments and offers the most cost effective, secure, and feature rich alternative to Exchange, without the expense of maintaining an in-house messaging server. Every critical component of the hosted IMail infrastructure is redundant and the network and server infrastructure is monitored 24×7x365.
