The Proof is in the Pudding

“The Proof is in the Pudding.”  We’ve all heard this term before.  Heck, I’ve even used it myself. But have you ever stopped to think about what it really means.  If you’re like me, you generally have a good idea but as to how it relates to pudding…hmmmm.  Ya got me!

So I did what any self-respecting person would do.  I Googled it.  According to Word Detective, the actual phrase is “the proof of the pudding is in the eating.”  Ah ha!!!  So in other words, the true value or quality of something can only be judged when it’s put to use or “tasted”.

Now let’s put this into context for a moment.  As a Marketer for Ipswitch IMail Server, of course I’m going to tell you that IMail Server is the best.  Not only is it what I believe, but quite frankly, it’s my job to tell you that.  And if I’m you, I’m saying “who is this chick Renee Hewlett and what does she know?”

Don’t listen to me.  The proof is in the pudding.  The fact is that SMB’s have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to email.  And let’s be honest, it’s a pretty big decision.  Email is a critical business function.   Options need to be evaluated and tested.  The bad news is that could take some time.  The good news is PCMag.com, experts in tech reviews, did the dirty work for you.  And when IMail Server was put to the test, not only did it pass but it went straight to the head of the class as PCMag.com’s Editors’ Choice when evaluated against two competitors – SmarterMail and Kerio MailServer 6.7.

So don’t take my word for it.  Grab a pudding snack pack and check out the reviews.  Congrats to the Ipswitch IMail Server team on a job well done and thanks to PCMag.com for the Editors’ Choice award.

  1. we’re still running Imail 8.x and the review was a big help in our decision to upgrae to 11.x. We had been holding off because 8.x was (is) running fine, and the versions before 11 were a little slow in our testing. I think 11 is where its at, but well see after we try it ourselves. Still, its comforting to see that someone else has put it through its paces and it came out on top.

@Scott – Glad to hear it was helpful. PCMag really puts the product through the ringer when they test so it’s definitely a good resource for anyone that’s in the same boat as you. We are very proud of v11 and I’m sure you’ll be pleased with the upgrade.
